The Road Commission for Oakland County, in partnership with the City of Novi, will be replacing concrete slabs at the intersection of Grand River Avenue and Novi Road starting the week of June 14.

The project includes:

• The replacement of concrete on SB Novi Road through lanes and center left-turn lane, between Main Street and the end of the concrete north of the intersection
• Removal and replacement of two eastbound through lanes of Grand River from east of Crescent Boulevard to the end of the concrete east of Novi Road
• Replacement of the Grand River center left-turn lane west of Novi Road
• Replacement of a select few concrete slabs in the WB lanes of Grand River, and all WB lanes, except the right-turn lane, on Grand River east of Novi Road.

Work will be done in two phases and we anticipate it will be substantially complete or open-to-traffic on or before August 13. While there will be road closures for through traffic, access to businesses within the project will be maintained at all times.

Stage 1: Grand River will be closed between Crescent Boulevard and Novi Road (the west leg of the intersection). During this stage, one lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained on Novi Road through the intersection. The detour route for Grand River west of Novi Road through traffic will be Crescent Blvd. to Town Center Dr. and back to Grand River and vice versa. During this stage, there will be no turns allowed from Novi Road onto Grand River.

Stage 2: Grand River will be closed from Novi Road east to Town Center Dr. One lane of Novi Road in each direction will be maintained through the intersection, with a NB left-turn lane at Grand River. The detour route for Grand River east of Novi Road through traffic will be Town Center Drive to Crescent Boulevard and back to Grand River and vice versa.
