Today, Danielle Mahoney joins the City of Novi team as the new Assistant City Manager.  Mahoney is a North Carolina native, born and raised in Charlotte. She has a passion for public service and has dedicated her career to working in local government.
 
Most recently, Mahoney served as the Assistant Director of Research and Development in Cary, North Carolina, where she led a team of change agents to orchestrate innovations that increased citizen engagement and optimized business processes. She has a proven track record of success in developing and implementing innovative solutions to complex problems.
 
Some of Mahoney's notable achievements include:

• Developing the Town's Project and Services Catalog, a bespoke Salesforce application detailing all of Cary's projects and services in one central place, designed to help executive leadership focus on the most important things.

• Establishing and maintaining an innovative public-private partnership network - The Alliance - to deliver leading-edge technologies to Cary, the first-ever of its kind in local government.

• Implementing Box and other cloud technology solutions to digitally transform the Town's business processes and advance the Town's strategy of creating the local government of the future.

• Developing and maintaining a complex product development roadmap to align and advance the Town's strategic investments in civic infrastructure.

• Managing the Town's branding effort.

 
Mahoney is passionate about innovation, change management, technology implementation, and organizational development. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management, as well as a Master of Public Administration from North Carolina State University. She also holds certificates from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and Vanderbilt University Owen Graduate School of Management.
 
Mahoney is an avid traveler, foodie and Swiftie. She enjoys reading, hiking, playing tennis, live music, and spending time with her husband, Matthew, their dog Stella, and two cats, Stamp and Simcoe.
 
Mahoney is excited to join the City of Novi team and help the City achieve its goals and objectives. She is committed to working collaboratively with the community to continue making Novi a great place to live, work, and raise a family.
