Volunteer as an adult literacy tutor in Novi

The Novi area has the largest number of adults anywhere in Oakland County looking for help with their English skills.

If you can spare two hours a week, the Oakland Literacy Council will train you to tutor an adult in reading, writing, and speaking. No teaching background is required, only a desire to open doors for someone whose life has been limited by low literacy.

As one Novi student said, after working with a tutor, "I'm not afraid anymore. I can do anything now."
