Since the city has been clearing the buckthorn from Rotary Park, the number of birds visiting the park and the ease of seeing them have both increased. With the increased food supply, and more natural habitat, orioles, robins, bluejays, an American redstart, a turkey and many more bird species could all be seen flitting about or walking along the ground this morning, and the sounds of birdcalls were everywhere. Take your binoculars for a leisurely walk along the trail south of the tennis court parking lot. As warblers and other birds are moving through the area on their northern migration, you may see a bird you haven’t seen before.
