In response to the Stay Safe, Stay Home Order issued by Governor Whitmer, the staff at Novi Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services want you to know the order allows us to keep our parks and trails open. However, due to an executive order from Oakland County all playgrounds remain closed in an effort to mitigate the spread of the Coronavirus. Signage has been placed at every playground in our City parks with the closure notice and we ask that our residents also avoid school and neighborhood playgrounds until future notice.
If you chose to use our parks and trails, please remember to allow six feet of distance between visitors. With limited staff available, we also ask that now, more than ever, you help keep our parks and trails clean by practicing “pack it in, pack it out” for your trash and cleaning up after your dog. Also, please note that our park restrooms are closed. We know this is an inconvenience, but it is too difficult to ensure they are all disinfected properly. Make sure you use the restroom before leaving home.
The Novi Parks team is disappointed that we have had to cancel so many programs that you have looked forward to all winter. Soccer, softball, theatre, the Memorial Day Parade, and the list goes on. Rest assured, our team misses you and is making plans for when we can get back on the fields, courts, stages and classrooms that we all know and love.
We ask that you stay informed on all local, state, and federal guidelines by visiting cdc.gov and please consider donating blood to the American Red Cross if you are able.
