The Novi Public Library has started planning the reopening phases for its building. Below is a snap-shot of what will be offered and when, based on the information we receive daily from the State of Michigan.

Currently, we are in the "virtual phase," but as more information and guidelines are released about public libraries in Michigan, we will begin to engage our community more. New policies and procedures have been approved by the Library Board to ensure safety and proper usage of our building. Details related to phases are subject to change.
 

Phase 1	VIRTUAL SERVICES Available through June 7 Mon-Fri, 10am-5pm
Building Access	The building is closed to the public.

Read Cart	Free books available (Mon-Fri, 10am-5pm) near library entrance.
Returns	Return slots are closed. Please hold on to your items until June 8. No fines will be charged while closed.

 

Phase 2	VIRTUAL & RETURN SERVICES June 8 - June 12 Mon-Fri, 10am-5pm
Building Access	The building is closed to the public.

Programs	All programs are virtual, June-August, on novilibrary.org.
Read Cart	Free books available (Mon-Fri, 10am-5pm) near library entrance.
Returns	The return slot will be open Mon-Fri, 10am-5pm. There are over 27,000 items we need to get back. An email will go out to cardholders who have items checked out. Oversized items and kits will NOT be accepted at this time. Returned items will be quarantined for 72 hours (CDC).

 

Phase 3	DRIVE-UP/LOCKER SERVICES BY APPOINTMENT June 15 - June 28 Mon-Sat, 10am-5pm Sun, 12-5pm
Building Access	The building is closed to the public.

Drive-Up Window & Lockers	Call ahead (248-869-7202 or 248-869-7203) to schedule a pickup time for holds and items currently on our shelves, Mon-Sat, 10am-5pm and Sun, 12-5pm. Closed June 21 for the holiday.

 

Phase 4	GRAB & GO SERVICES (30 min. or less) Begins June 29 Dedicated Time for Vulnerable People Mon-Thu, 10-10:30am General Public Mon-Thu, 10:30am-9pm Fri-Sat, 10am-6pm Sun, 12-6pm
Building Access	Wearing masks will be required (based on Executive Order). The building will be open to the public regular hours of operation.   Dedicated Time for Vulnerable People (ages 60+, pregnant women, and those with chronic conditions):  Mon-Thu, 10-10:30am
In-Library Services	Guests will be asked to visit the Library quickly and efficiently (30 minutes or less) to find and check out materials, use computers, and get help. Social distancing and all safety guidelines will be followed.
Programs	All programs are virtual, June-August, on novilibrary.org.
Returns	The return slot will be open during regular hours of operation. Closed July 4 and July 5 for the holiday. Returned items will be quarantined for 72 hours (CDC).
Drive-Up Window & Lockers	Call ahead (248-869-7202 or 248-869-7203) to schedule a pickup time for holds and items currently on our shelves during regular hours of operation. Closed July 4 and July 5 for the holiday.
Cleaning	Daily cleaning and disinfecting of all high touch areas will be conducted.

 

Phase 5	LIMITED USAGE CONDITIONS Date to Be Determined
Building Access	Wearing masks will be required (based on Executive Order) . The building will be open to the public regular hours of operation.
In-Library Expanded Services	Based on State of Michigan guidelines, guests will have more time to access the building to find and check out materials, use computers and get help. Social distancing and all safety guidelines will be followed.
Programs	All programs are virtual, June-August, on novilibrary.org.
Returns	The return slot will be open during regular hours of operation. Returned items will be quarantined for 72 hours (CDC).
