Lakeshore Park now open to the Novi community
Published: 1/29/2021
There’s still work to be done, but Lakeshore Park is finally open! The construction that began in the fall of 2019 was impacted greatly by the coronavirus pandemic, pushing what City officials hoped to be a Memorial Day 2020 opening into 2021.

"We are excited to welcome you back to the renovated Lakeshore Park and appreciate the patience and understanding of all our residents,” said City Manager Peter Auger. “It’s exciting to be nearing the finish line and look forward to seeing all the smiling faces soaking in all the park has to offer.”

Highlights of the improvements include the Lakeshore Park building, large pavilion, sidewalks, new playground and more. Once open, and if permitted based on gathering restrictions, the Novi Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services team may start to host some programming in the community building this winter and spring.

Although the park will be open for use in February, quite a bit of work will continue in the spring to fully complete renovations. Some of those items include restoration, landscaping, installation of outdoor grills, benches and tables, final paving of the asphalt and installation of the Library kiosk.
