The Goddard School, the nation’s leading premier early childhood education franchise, has opened its second Novi location, with former Goddard parents as its owners.
The nationally acclaimed childcare provider’s expansion in Novi offers more parents in the community peace of mind knowing they have another option for their children to safely return to the classroom in a nurturing environment. As childcare and early childhood education continues to play a pivotal role in the lives of parents and their young children, the school is now enrolling children ages six weeks to six years old.
The play-based learning experience offered at The Goddard School, located at 39659 W. 13 Mile Road, uses the most current, academically endorsed methods in early childhood education so children can explore, learn and discover through many different subjects and enrichment classes.
From learning how to communicate using sign language to practicing yoga and mindfulness, Goddard helps children develop interests and use their imagination. The Goddard School’s curriculum on social-emotional development also educates children on how to be kind to themselves and others, further helping students become school ready, career ready and life ready.
On-site owners Kristine and Kevin Kempl were very impressed with the quality of education their son received at The Goddard School he attended. With the hope of providing the same experience to their community, they opened a Goddard School to offer a premier early childhood education and help parents raise enriched, creative learners.
As an occupational therapist, Kristine Kempl is excited to use her background to enhance the school’s already nationally acclaimed academics. “Occupational therapy has a heavy focus on child development and task analysis. My goal is to choose specific activities and tasks that will facilitate proper motor and social development for students,” Kristine Kempl said. “My background in occupational therapy will help guide our curriculum, especially when individualizing it for each child.”
The Kempls and their faculty remain committed to ensuring a safe, high quality learning experience and have implemented health and safety protocols such as health checks before entry, virtual tours, professional cleanings each night and the latest sanitization technologies.
In addition to the heightened health and safety protocols Goddard Schools across the country have implemented since the start of the pandemic, this new location is using the ZONO Disinfecting and Sanitizing Cabinet to sanitize any shared materials used daily by children, such as toys and building materials.
Kevin Kempl added, “Along with all early childhood educators, we’ve had to alter our school’s health and safety guidelines based on the ongoing pandemic, but we’re committed to ensuring a safe, high-quality learning experience for children to learn and grow amid these trying times.”
With more than 12,000 square feet, the new Novi location has nine classrooms from infant rooms to Pre-K classes, space for 144 children and is adding more than 25 teaching jobs in the area. The new location features two outdoor playgrounds and learning spaces as well as a large multi-purpose room for additional physical activity.
The newest Goddard School in Novi is open Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information about this location,
