Breuhan graduates from School of Fire Staff and Command

The Novi Fire Department is pleased to announce the graduation of Lt. Peter Breuhan from the 23rd Class of the School of Fire Staff and Command Executive Leadership Program at Eastern Michigan University.

Lt. Breuhan joined 39 fire department professionals - representing 37 different communities from throughout the State of Michigan - who participated in the nine-month program.

The School of Fire Staff and Command Executive Leadership Program provides upper-level academic instruction in a total of five core, or mandatory blocks of instruction and utilizes over 30 additional optional blocks of instruction during each session. Major topics of study include Leadership Development, Planning and Decision Making, Human Resource Management, Administration of the Fire Department and Critical Incidents in Homeland Security. The goal of the program is to better prepare the professional fire officer to effectively manage their fire agency

“I am extremely proud of Lieutenant Breuhan’ s professional growth and development as a public safety executive,” said Novi Director of Public Safety/Chief of Police David E. Molloy. “The Staff and Command program has prepared him to meet the many challenges the Novi Fire Department faces every day enhancing public trust with community members.”

Lt. Breuhan began his career with the Novi Fire Department in 2013 as a fire protection officer before being promoted to Lieutenant in 2020.
