Former Vice President Joe Biden won the Michigan Democratic primary on Tuesday night and was also the top choice among voters in Novi.
Biden garnered 6,465 votes at Novi's 25 precincts compared to just 3,459 for U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders. A total of 15,970 voters took part in Tuesday's election for a voter turnout of 37.37%.
The renewal of the Detroit Institute of Arts millage proved to be successful in all three counties - Oakland, Wayne and Macomb - according to unofficial results. In Novi, 12,053 votes were cast in favor of the millage, while just 3,499 were opposed.
Voters in precincts 16, 17, 24 & 25 also had to weigh in on a Northville Public Schools sinking fund millage proposal, supporting the measure with 1,568 in favor and 750 opposed.
