City of Novi remains under boil water advisory

The City of Novi has issued a citywide Boil Water Advisory due to a possible Great Lakes Water Authority water main break along 14 Mile Road in Farmington Hills. The Advisory is in effect until further notice. Updates will be provided on when available.

What should you do?
  • ALL residents and businesses in Novi are impacted by this Advisory (except those on a well).
  • Do NOT drink the water without boiling it first. Let it boil for one (1) minute and let it cool before using.
  • Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation.
  • Filtered water is NOT safe for use as the organisms are microscopic. Boil ALL water used for consumption.
  • If you are on a well, you are not impacted by this Advisory.

 What is being done?
  • City staff are working with a team from the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA) to determine the exact cause of the low pressure being experienced by many in Novi.
  • Once the cause has been determined, we will share the estimated time for repair.
