Novi Men’s Cross Country Finish 2nd at Lakeland Freshmen / Sophomore Invitational

Novi Cross Country’s Freshmen and Sophomores ended their season on a high note by placing 2nd in the Lakeland 9-10 Invitational on Tuesday afternoon. Catholic Central won the meet with 35 points. The Wildcats scored 79, while Waterford Mott finished 3rd with 90 points in the 7 team field.

Freshman Matt Whyte (4th overall) led the way for our ‘Cats by running the 3.1 mile course in 17:51. Other medalists included Prateek Bhola (13th, 18:55), Dallas Foley (18th, 19:10), Andrew Kaempfer (22nd, 19:22), Zach Dembinski (24th, 19:41), and Caleb Wood (30th, 20:13). Dan Netter rounded out the varsity with a time of 20:54, good for 37th place.

“It was nice for our your athletes to earn medals and to also earn a trophy for the school” observed Coach Robert Smith. “The future for Novi Cross Country looks bright”.
