Wildcat Men's Cross Country wins KLAA conference title

The Novi Men's Cross Country Team won the KLAA Conference Championship Thursday in convincing fashion. The 'Cats earned just 34 points in securing the win. Second place was almost double that - Plymouth finished with 63 points. Rounding out the top five was Canton (66 points), Northville (67) and South Lyon (139).

Novi's Mike Blaszczyk was the overall medalist with a personal season-best time of 16:07. Joe Schubring (5th in 16:38) and Dan Egner (6th in 16:39) also earned First-Team All-Conference honors.

Brett Giampa (9th in 16:44) and Geoff Giese (13th in 16:50) earned Second-Team All-Conference honors.

Alex Minghine's time of 17:04 gave him 17th place and Third-Team All-Conference honors, and Chase Conrad rounded out the varsity squad with a very respectable 29th place finish (17:28).

Impressively, 23 of the 28 Novi athletes who raced yesterday had a season best personal record.

The Wildcats are are now an amazing 110-1 for the season.
