Novi Lacrosse Brings down the ‘Dog’ House 9-6
May 9, 2008 by Lynda Favorite

The Brighton Bulldogs were definitely trying to make their way to the top of the KVC Thursday night but the Novi Wildcats were hanging on to their leash as they won by a margin of 9-6. The game was tied after the first quarter and Brighton was up by one at halftime 3-4. But the Wildcats came in for a four goal 3rd period which proved to be the clincher.

It was a very cool and windy May 8th night for the lacrosse teams and the game was warmed up by lots of penalty minutes and a very physical contest. Goalie Kyle Simone was hit by a shot and sustained an injury halfway through the game and Junior Kody Tipton came in as goalie to share the victory.

Scoring came from Paul Favorite who had 4 goals and 2 assists, Matt Mandeville had 2 goals and 2 assists, while Craig Howell had 1 goal and 1 assist. Sean Murphy and Erik Aepelbacher also chipped in with a goal each with Nathan Haynes adding an assist.

With the away jerseys on, Novi’s ‘Great Green Wall’ of defense prevailed… Eric Guttman, Jack Petroskey, Andrew Donatto, and Anthony Gasparotto.

The Cats are now 11-1 overall. Wildcat Stadium will host the next home game on Saturday, May 10 at 1:00pm against the Ann Arbor Huron River Rats. This will be Senior Recognition Day for the 6 graduating Wildcats; Craig Howell, George Riegel, Alex Willer, Eric Guttman, Kyle Simone, and Zach Erickson.
