Huron Valley Lacrosse Takes a Knee to Novi
May 3, 2008 by Lynda Favorite

The Novi Wildcats traveled to Lakeland High School Thursday night and beat the Huron Valley Titans with a final score of 16-8. It was a hard fought contest with the Wildcats delivering an 8 goal 3rd quarter.

The starting attack team led the scoring with a combined total of 11 goals and 3 assists. Craig Howell and Matt Mandeville each had 4 goals and an assist, while Tom Machisak had 3 goals and 1 assist. Middie Paul Favorite contributed 3 goals and 4 assists while fellow midfielder Nathan Haynes had 2 goals and 1 assist. In addition, Sean Murphy and defenseman Andrew Donatto both had assists for the night.

Senior Kyle Simone manned the goal, while Eric Guttman, Jack Petroskey, and Donatto defended Novi’s territory.

The only damper on this victory was the absence of high scoring middie George Riegel on the field. George sustained a broken clavicle in practice this week and is not expected to see action the rest of the season.

Novi’s record is now 9-1. The Wildcats will host the Hartland Eagles on Monday May 5 at 6:30pm in Novi Stadium.
