Sam Olsen announces candidacy for Novi City Council
April 25, 2017

NOVI, MI - Today, lifelong Novi resident, Sam Olsen, officially announced his candidacy to run for Novi City Council.

Mr. Olsen, a resident of Novi and legislative aide in the Michigan House of Representatives said that he is looking forward to giving back to his community and continue working towards making Novi the best place in Michigan to work, and raise a family.

Mr. Olsen is a graduate of James Madison College at Michigan State University and of Novi High School. His political activism has always been centered around making a positive impact on his local community.

A member of St. James Catholic Church in Novi, Mr. Olsen is focused on improving public safety, services for seniors, and government transparency. One of the best opportunities in Novi for families living here is the wide range of options for potential involvement, especially in the Parks and Recreation Department, which he was involved in during his youth extensively. The services provided to seniors, specifically transportation, must be a top priority, an issue that is particularly important to Mr. Olsen since his grandparents have been residents of Fox Run for the past ten years.

“Novi is the town I was raised in; I want to continue our growth by giving back so I can raise a family in the town I call home,” said Olsen. “Keeping our taxes low and making Novi more business friendly will contribute to making Novi more prosperous and with my fresh views and state government experience, I know I can get the job done.”

The election for the three positions on Novi’s City Council will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2017.
