March 1, 2016

WEST BLOOMFIELD TWP., MI -  When anyone is asked to describe S. Bobby Jasti’s moral character, the first two words that immediately come to mind are FINANCIAL INTEGRITY. Jasti’s core values revolve around balanced budgets, fiscally and socially conservative principles and financial integrity. Jasti plans to apply these important standards as he begins his campaign quest to serve his loyal constituency as the next Oakland County Commissioner for the 5th District.

“I am proud to start this journey to represent my friends and neighbors on a grassroots level as their future County Commissioner,” said Jasti, a West Bloomfield resident, business executive and entrepreneur. “I hope to continue and maintain the outstanding financial reputation of Oakland County, under the leadership of County Executive L. Brooks Patterson.”

Jasti is a commercial banking executive for the Bank of Ann Arbor. He serves that organization as a Senior Vice President in the firm’s Plymouth office. He is running for the open County Commissioner seat being vacated by veteran John Scott, who will seek election for the Waterford Township Supervisor position. He founded Lotus Bank in Novi, and was a member of Novi Rotary.

Jasti, a long-time member and supporter in the Republican Party, will seek the Republican nomination for the County Commissioner seat in the 5th District, which includes the cities of Keego Harbor, Orchard Lake Village, and Sylvan Lake, along with portions of West Bloomfield and Waterford townships. If elected, Jasti plans to leverage his business, financial and entrepreneurial expertise to the Oakland County Board of Commissioners and their management of the county’s $825 million annual budget.

“My business skills will further enhance Oakland County’s outstanding record for budgeting and money management,” Jasti said. “I will bring an entrepreneur’s philosophy and a conservative economic outlook to help Oakland County government achieve even greater levels of government service for our county residents.”

Jasti also has extensive experience in creating and retaining jobs in Oakland County. He has participated in numerous trade missions in various countries, as part of his ongoing focus on strong economic development.

Jasti has been married to his wife, Sree, for 29 years. They have two daughters, ages 26 and 19. He is a son of immigrants from India, and has lived in West Bloomfield Township for the past 20 years and Oakland County for 25 years. Jasti holds a Business Administration degree from Wayne State University in Detroit. He was the Republican nominee for the Wayne State Board of Governors in 2014 and 2012. He earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Chicago, one of the most conservative universities in America.

Jasti also is a strong believer of community service. He is a board member on Lawrence Tech University's College of Management. Jasti also is a long-time Rotary Club member and a new member of the West Bloomfield Optimists Club. He is the Past-Chairman of the Novi Chamber of Commerce and a past Chairman of the Audit Committee of the SE Michigan American Red Cross Board.

In his spare time, Jasti enjoys playing golf and pheasant hunting. For more information about Bobby Jasti’s bid for Oakland County Commissioner, please visit his website or email him at
