Sheriff's Dept. investigating
crash that seriously injured
Novi man early Saturday

March 1, 2008; updated March 6, 2008

The Oakland County Sheriff's Department reported Wednesday that Saidou Jallow, 26 of Novi, passed away as a result of injuries sustained in the March 1 car crash. Jallow is originally from Gambia, Africa.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Department Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating a serious injury crash that occurred about 1:40 a.m today on Eight Mile road near Chubb in Lyon Township.

A 26 year-old male Novi resident sustained serious head injuries when the 2002 Pontiac he was operating east-bound on Eight Mile road went out of control, crossed the center line, left the road on the north side and struck a tree.

The man was extracted from the vehicle by the Fire Dept. personnel and transported to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor. He was not wearing a seatbelt, and alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash..

The crash remains under investigation by the Oakland County Sheriff's Department.
