Lifetime of Novi has established their selves as
the gym to be at in Novi. Lifetime has state of
the art workout equipment in their weight
training and cardiovascular training area
upstairs. On the lower level you have basketball
courts, racquetball and squash courts, and a
rock wall. Lifetime is family oriented, and has
indoor and outdoor leisure pools with
waterslides, as well as an Olympic size indoor
swimming pool. They also have a child center.

Planet Fitness is by
far the most affordable gym in Novi. They have a
full free weight training area to go along with
their cardio machines. They also have a nice
circuit training area. Planet Fitness is the
only gym to include unlimited tanning and red
light therapy in their memberships. They are
also the only gym to allow members to bring
unlimited guests. This location is on the far
side of Novi, but there is also a location in
downtown Northville for those on the south side

Sports club of Novi has state of the art tennis
courts. Access to the courts is included in your
membership. You definitely won’t find that
amenity at any other gym in Novi. Sports Club of
Novi has a great training facility with free
weights, cardiovascular equipment, and an
indoor/outdoor lap pool. Their 20,000 sq. ft.
outdoor pool and deck is top notch as well!

No matter the time of year or
how busy you are, a simple break from the busy struggle of
life can be beneficial in many ways. Exercising is a
phenomenal stress management tool and great for the body! 30
minutes of physical activity daily can help the body in
multiple ways. Other than weight control and maintaining
good health, exercise can help prevent diseases including
high blood pressure and heart disease. Regular exercise can
give you a little energy boost which can help with your mood
and your sleep habits. Exercise can even be fun!
Here are a few tips on staying in the habit:
Routine: You get up every morning and brush your
teeth before you start your day. You eat, breath, and sleep
daily. Add exercise to that daily or even weekly routine.
You do not need to be in the gym 7 days a week, but getting
to the gym on a regular schedule, whether it is two or five
days a week, will help you keep on track. Set your schedule
and stick to it!
Set goals: If you are a one of those seasonal gym
individual’s, and fade out in the summer, try getting back
in the gym a couple days a week and then back to your
regular routine. If you are just thinking about starting,
set a goal and go for it! Always set goals that are
measurable and achievable.
Comfortable setting: Music is most people’s best
friend in the gym. Throwing on your favorite music helps you
focus and removes distraction. Having a partner in the gym
helps too. A partner can motivate you to get to the gym, and
can be very beneficial when you are pushing out those last
couple reps. The most important factor in being comfortable
is enjoying where you are working out. Find a gym you like
