It Looks Like the Lion Owes the
Wildcat Dinner
By Haley Prasad 10/11/07
Once again Novi’s Coach Smith has
won. Not just the race, but dinner. This was the 18th time that
the Smith brothers (Coach Robert Smith of Novi and Coach Scott
Smith of South Lyon) made their annual bet: The losing coach
buys the other brother dinner. Only once has Novi’s Smith had to
feed the hungry Lion.

Prasad
I’ve read a number
of letters by former athletes, talking about their great
coaches, and the great programs that created them. It’s a
favorite recruiting tactic of college coaches, and I’ve nearly
“fallen” for them a number of times. And while you may think
this is just another letter in that line, I’d say this one is
unique. MORE
