Vote YES on the School Bond
Murphy, Wizinsky and Nielson
for Novi School Board

4/29/07

Novi's Schools have always been the gem of our fine city. Our schools are what makes Novi proud. They're what keeps up our property values. Our schools are an investment, in our children and in our real estate.

When someone thinks about moving into Novi and they have children, the first thing they do is check out the schools. What better in uncertain economic times that to put our trust in our schools through continued investment.

School administration has thought long and hard, and included many members of the community, in developing a long range plan. Part of this plan includes upgrades to the older elementary schools. This is vitally important towards ensuring our schools remain marketable, and that's increasingly important as the competition heats up. The proposed school bond allows for this.

The proposed school bond will also upgrade the technology and security systems in the school buildings. Both are obviously vitally important for our children's futures. We've looked into the details and believe these are also sound investments.

Some say the timing isn't right. We the People believe the timing is right. It's the right time to invest in our schools, which can only help our children, our property values, and in the long run help the entire city as a result. The fact that we'll actually see a drop in total school taxes next year, even with approval of the bond proposal, makes the timing even better.

We urge a YES vote on the school bond.

Also vitally important is our Board of Education. In our analysis, three candidates stand out to move Novi forward. We urge you to vote for Murphy, Wizinsky, and for the partial term Nielson. All three have children in the district, are positive and forward-thinking, and show great promise in guiding our fine school system forward.

Demographics show that it's usually seniors and moms who vote in May elections. Let's show everyone that Novi cares - let's ALL get out and vote on May 8th.
